Eligibility Criteria

NEET MDS 2024 Eligibility Criteria

General Guidelines

  • Nationality: Candidates must be Indian citizens, OCIs, or PIOs.
  • Qualification: Candidates must hold a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) degree awarded by a recognized university or institute in India, as per the MDS course regulations 2017 issued by the Dental Council of India (DCI) with the approval of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW).
  • Registration: Candidates must have a provisional or permanent registration certificate issued by the DCI or State Dental Council (SDC).
  • Internship: Dental graduates must have completed or are expected to complete a 12-month rotatory internship by March 31, 2024. Candidates undergoing the internship who expect to complete it by this date will be considered eligible for the exam but must provide the internship certificate at the time of counselling to be eligible for admission.

Eligibility Criteria for Jammu and Kashmir Aspirants

  • Candidates who obtained their UG dental degrees from Jammu and Kashmir are not eligible for the 50% All India Quota (AIQ) seats unless they were nominated by the Government of India (GoI) under the central pool quota seats. These candidates must submit a signed affidavit stating their nomination by the GoI, along with the NEET MDS application form 2024, to the specified address.

Eligibility Criteria for Foreign Nationals

  • Foreign nationals must have a basic dental qualification equivalent to BDS recognized by the Dental Council of India.
  • They are not required to have temporary registration with DCI at the time of the exam.
  • Foreign nationals can take the exam without a DCI registration certificate.
  • A temporary registration certificate from DCI will be issued on the condition that the foreign national is registered as a medical practitioner in their home country.

Disqualification Criteria for NEET MDS 2024

  • Any candidate found violating the NEET MDS 2024 eligibility conditions set by NBE will be disqualified from taking the exam.
  • If an ineligible candidate manages to appear for the exam, their candidature will be canceled.
