The JIPMER exam pattern provides insights into the marking scheme, common concepts, question types, and topic-wise weightage. This computer-based test has a total of 800 marks.
The JIPMER 2024 exam will last two and a half hours without any breaks. Given that approximately 200,000 aspirants take the exam, it will be held in two shifts: morning and afternoon. Shift allocation is random, and no requests for shift changes will be entertained. The duration of both shifts is provided below.
Refer to the highlights of the JIPMER exam pattern in the table below.
The JIPMER 2024 exam pattern, to be published by the authorities, will detail the types of questions asked in previous years and the marking scheme. The exam will be conducted in English only. In addition to Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, aspirants must prepare for English Language Comprehension and Logical and Quantitative Reasoning.
The entrance exam consists of 200 objective-type questions, each with four options, only one of which is correct. As it is a computer-based exam, aspirants must save their responses before moving to the next question. They can mark questions for review and change their responses later if needed.
Aspirants should thoroughly study the Physics, Chemistry, and Biology concepts from the class 11 and 12 syllabi to score well. Each of these three subjects carries equal weightage in the exam. Logical and Quantitative Reasoning, and English Language and Comprehension, have one-sixth the weightage of the other three subjects. The official syllabus for the entrance exam has not been released yet, but it aligns with the 10+2 CBSE and state board syllabi for Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.
