  • Single best answer type: 1 mark awarded for each correct answer, 1/3 mark deducted for each wrong answer
  • Match the following type: 1/4 mark awarded for each correct answer, 1/4 mark deducted for each wrong answer
  • Sequential arrangement type: 1 mark awarded for each correct answer, 1 mark deducted for each wrong answer

Academic Qualifications

To be eligible for the NEET exam and AIIMS MBBS admission, candidates must meet the following academic qualifications:

  • Successfully completed the 12th-grade examination or its equivalent from a recognized board.
  • Main subjects in the 12th-grade examination must include Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English.
  • Minimum score of 50% for General/EWS category or 40% for SC/ST/OBC/PwD in the 12th-grade examination.

Qualifying Exam and Marks

Applicants should have completed their 10+2 or an equivalent examination with core subjects in Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English. Biology/Biotechnology as extra subjects in both Class 11 and 12 will be acknowledged by a recognized board.

Age Limit

Candidates must have reached the minimum age of 17 by December 31, 2023. The upper age limit for NEET has been removed, allowing candidates above 25 years to participate. Their eligibility is contingent upon the resolution of pending petitions before the Supreme Court.

Eligibility for OCIs, NRIs, and Foreign Nationals

  • OCIs and NRIs: Under Section 7A of the Citizenship Act of 1955, they can participate in the entrance exam under the same conditions as Indian Nationals, provided they present documentation confirming their registration as an OCI under Section 7A.
  • Foreign Nationals: AIIMS, New Delhi, allocates 7 seats for foreign applicants who must have achieved a minimum of 50% overall in English, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology in their 10+2 Science exam or a comparable test. They should contact the Indian Mission or Post in their respective nation and the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, New Delhi, for nomination and admission. Admission for foreign nationals is not solely based on their performance in the AIIMS exam.
