CUET is not a completely new exam. Previously called the Central Universities Common Entrance Test (CUCET), it was established in 2010 for admissions to undergraduate, integrated postgraduate, and diploma/certificate programs at seven central universities.

CUET UG Marking Scheme

The CUET exam marking scheme varies based on the slots and subjects chosen. According to NTA guidelines:

  • Correct answer: +5 marks
  • Incorrect answer: -1 mark
  • Unanswered/Marked for Review: 0 marks
  • More than one correct option: +5 marks for any of the correct options marked
  • All options correct: +5 marks for all who attempted the question

Eligibility Criteria

CUET 2025: Eligibility Criteria for Undergraduate Programs

The NTA has outlined the eligibility criteria for CUET 2025 along with the admission notification. Here’s a summary of the requirements:

  • Minimum Marks: Candidates must secure at least 50% in their +2 examinations if they belong to the General category, while SC/ST candidates need to score at least 45%.
  • Subject Requirements: Candidates should have studied specific subjects in +2, depending on the course they wish to pursue.
  • Nationality: Candidates must be Indian nationals.
  • Application Flexibility: Candidates are encouraged to apply to as many Participating Universities and programs as possible under CUET.
  • Application Timing: Candidates can apply for CUET while still appearing for their qualifying exams. However, they must present their passing certificate during counseling.

CUET 2025: Age Limit

There is no age limit to take the CUET 2025 exam. However, candidates must meet the educational qualification requirements to be eligible.
